Waste Watchers is an independent, non-profit volunteer community group that promotes the responsible disposal and recycling of waste on the Eastern Shore of VA

Goals & Objectives

Cleaner Roads. Stronger Communities. A Greener Shore.

Awareness

Use of media, signage, and literature to put the anti-litter campaign at the forefront of County initiatives.

Education

School programs and business platforms to teach everyone the harmful effects of litter on our waterways, wildlife and public health and safety.

Enforcement

Use of vigilance to sustain campaign efforts and foster a clean and healthy environment.

Sustainability

Encourage the use of recyclables and products that are earth-friendly.

Waste Watchers of the Eastern Shore was founded by a group of dedicated local citizens passionate about keeping our communities clean and our environment healthy. Led by a volunteer board of officers, including Marilyn Ailes, Sue Mastyl, and other committed leaders, our team works tirelessly to coordinate cleanups, raise awareness, and inspire action across Accomack and Northampton counties.
